Badrinath Dham

Badrinath Temple, or Badrinarayana Temple, is a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu in Badrinath, Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Alaknanda River. It is a key Char Dham pilgrimage site.

The main deity, Badrinarayana, is a black stone idol placed under a gold canopy beneath the Badri tree. The temple also houses shrines for Goddess Lakshmi, Garuda, and several saints. According to legend, Goddess Lakshmi protected Vishnu here in the form of the Badri tree, giving the temple its divine significance. Badrinath is also one of the 108 Divya Desams and part of the Panch Badri group of Vishnu temples.

Charan Paduka

Charan Paduka, about 3 km from Badrinath, is a sacred site believed to hold the footprints of Lord Vishnu. Pilgrims visit to seek blessings and relief from ailments while enjoying the serene Himalayan surroundings.

The site can be reached via a short 3 km trek from Badrinath Temple, taking around 1.5 hours. Along the way, visitors can admire Neelkanth Peak, Nar Parvat, and the flowing Rishi Ganga. The area also has caves and resting spots, offering pilgrims a peaceful and spiritually uplifting experience.

Vasudhara Falls

(Three-hour trek from Mana village)

Vasudhara Falls, located near Badrinath in Uttarakhand, is a stunning waterfall set against a 145 m cliff. Surrounded by the Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, and Balakun peaks, it is both a scenic and spiritually significant destination.

The waterfall flows into the Alaknanda River, about 9 km from Badrinath, and can be reached via a three-hour trek from Mana village. The trail passes Saraswati Mandir and offers panoramic views of the river valley. The route is stony with patches of grass and shrubs, and even in summer, the area remains cool with occasional mist, making it a refreshing trek for visitors.

Satopanth Tal

Satopanth Tal is a high-altitude glacial lake in Uttarakhand, located 22 km from Badrinath amidst snow-capped peaks. It is considered a sacred site and admired for its serene beauty and panoramic Himalayan views.

The lake lies at an elevation of 4,600 m and remains snow-covered from late September to May or June. Surrounded by peaks like Balakun, Nilkantha, and Swargarohini, Satopanth Tal is believed to be visited by the Trimoortis—Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh—on auspicious days. Local legends also speak of special birds guarding the lake, adding to its spiritual and mystical significance.

Mana Village

Mana Village, located about 3 km from Badrinath, is the last village before the India-Tibet border in Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of 3,200 meters, it is known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance.

The village lies at the northern end of National Highway 7 and serves as a gateway to Mana Pass. Culturally and historically connected with Badrinath, Mana offers visitors a glimpse of traditional Himalayan village life, local customs, and stunning mountain views.

Bheem Pul

Bheem Pul, near Badrinath in Uttarakhand, is a natural stone bridge over the Saraswati River. According to legend, it was placed by Bheem, one of the Pandava brothers, to help Draupadi cross the river.

The site offers a serene atmosphere with the flowing Saraswati River beneath the bridge, blending myth, history, and natural beauty. Located close to Mana Village, Bheem Pul is not only a scenic spot but also holds cultural and spiritual significance for visitors.

Vyas Gufa

Vyas Gufa, located near Mana Village, is an ancient cave where Sage Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata. The cave is revered by devotees for its spiritual significance.

Inside the cave, there is a small shrine and stone markings resembling ancient scriptures. It is about 500 meters from the Mana parking area, reachable via a short uphill walk, offering visitors a calm and spiritually uplifting experience.

Ganesh Gufa

Ganesh Gufa, located near Vyas Gufa, is believed to be the cave where Lord Ganesha wrote the Mahabharata as Ved Vyas dictated it. It is a small, sacred site visited by devotees seeking blessings.

The cave contains a Ganesh idol and stone seating, offering a peaceful and quiet environment. Just 100 meters from Vyas Gufa, it is surrounded by scenic landscapes and provides a spiritually enriching experience away from crowds.

Saraswati Mata Temple

Saraswati Mata Temple, located near Badrinath, is dedicated to the goddess Saraswati. It is situated close to the visible stretch of the holy Saraswati River, attracting pilgrims seeking blessings.

The Saraswati River emerges from underground near Bheem Pul and later merges with the Alaknanda. Visitors come to witness this sacred site, experiencing its spiritual significance and serene surroundings.
